Do'S And Don'Ts For Sensitive Skin (सेंसिटिव स्किन के लिए क्या करें और क्या नहीं) | (In HINDI)

Do you have sensitive skin? Is your skin red and inflamed? Do you have dry flaky patches on your skin? Do you have frequent breakouts? Do none of the skincare products in the market suit you? Hello, I am Dr. Dhananjay Chavan, Cosmetic Dermatologist and Hair Transplant surgeon, Clear Skin and Hair MD, Pune. A lot of our patients, especially females, tell us that their skin is very sensitive and none of the skincare products suit them. They get rashes, redness, dryness, bumps, pimples, and burning sensations. We are going to discuss how to care for sensitive skin in today’s video.

First let’s talk about what sensitive skin is. Sensitive skin is a skin type that is prone to rashes, dryness, redness, inflammation or allergies. Sometimes even changes in the weather or over exposure to the sun can cause rashes on sensitive skin, make it dry or cause itching, irritation and redness or inflammation. Bumps are also noticed on sensitive skin.

Often, few medical conditions like eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis or rosacea also exhibit symptoms similar to these. In fact, sensitive skin can be genetic and there may be a familial tendency towards this skin type. If anyone in your family suffers from sensitive skin, atopic dermatitis, or some allergic skin disease, their skin may be naturally sensitive. If you see such symptoms on your skin, consult with your dermatologist.

This will help you to figure out if you have any skin disease if you are allergic to any skin care product or if your skin is just sensitive. If you have sensitive skin, it is necessary to take really good care of your skin to prevent any contact allergies or skin irritation. Sensitive skin requires extra care. So let’s see what steps you need to take to care for sensitive skin.

Tip number 1: Sensitive skin is prone to dryness. So you should use gentle, soap-free cleansers. Soap has a lot of chemicals that can irritate your skin and cause it to dry out even more. Tip number 2: Check the contents on the product label before buying any skin care products.

Use products that are made specifically for your skin type that say “for sensitive skin” or “hypoallergenic” on the label. These will be gentle on your skin. Tip number 3: To prevent allergies to chemicals or products, you should always test all your products. Before purchasing any product, test it on a small skin patch on the inside of your arm, wrist or behind your ear.

If no adverse reactions are seen within 72 hours, it probably suits your skin and you can use the product. Tip number 4: Use hydrating products that have a mild fragrance or no fragrance at all as these will be preservative free. Tip number 5: Protect your skin before leaving from the house. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen and wear a cap, hat, scarf, stole or sun coat to cover your skin.

It is better to use physical, organic or mineral sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide bases for sensitive skin. Physical sunscreens are thick, but their ingredients won’t irritate your skin. Tip number 6: You should avoid moisturisers and creams containing paraben as these may cause allergies. Along with this you should avoid strong skin care products that have ammonia, ethylene glycol monobutyl acetate, sodium hypochlorite, trisodium phosphate, retinoids, and alpha hydroxy acids.

Tip number 7: You should not use toner or other alcohol based products as they can cause your skin to dry out. They may also form dry patches and cause your skin to get irritated. Tip number 8: Artificial jewellery and leather belts may also be a problem for sensitive skin. Goggles or specs with metallic frames can also cause irritation, so you should avoid using such items.

Tip number 9: You should wear smooth, soft natural fabrics. Cotton is ideal for sensitive skin. Synthetic fibres and mixed fibres can irritate your skin. Tip number 10: Certain cosmetic products can cause allergies, so you should avoid these as well.

Tip number 11: You should avoid taking long baths. Staying wet for a long time can strip your skin of its natural oils which may make your skin dry and cause cracks to form. You should also not use very hot water for bathing for this reason. Tip number 12: If you regularly apply makeup or use makeup to hide your blemishes and pimples, you should be very careful.

Avoid applying very heavy makeup and if you cannot avoid, then keep it for a very short while. Remove your make up properly immediately after reaching home. Let your blocked pores open and let your skin breathe. Tip number 13: You have to keep in mind that chemicals are not the only causes of allergies.

Even natural products may cause allergies. Natural products have certain acids like fruit acid or vegetable acid that can cause allergies. So you should avoid these as well. So these were a few tips that you should follow.

If you choose your skin products carefully, you should not have any problems. If you see any abnormal signs on your skin because of its sensitivity, make sure you visit a dermatologist. Everyone’s skin and skin type is different and they react or respond differently to different skincare products or environmental changes. Often family members or friends suggest different skincare products or you may see an advertisement and want to try the products.

But you should not do this. Before you try any products make sure that you check the ingredients to see if they suit you and do some basic research on the product. Remember to patch test the product before you use it. I hope you got the information you were looking for.
