Episode 44–Why You Shouldn'T Overlook The Power Of Vitamin C!

Episode 44–Why You Shouldn

Hello and welcome to another episode of Kyäni Wellness TV. My name is Dr. Andreas Boechter, member here of the Scientific Advisory Board at Kyäni, and in today’s video, we’ll talk about the often most overlooked and taking for granted vitamin when it comes to your health and well-being–vitamin C. You know, for years we’ve been hearing about the power of vitamin C so much so that many of us are actually becoming numb to its profound benefits and overlooking its use as a powerful antioxidant, anti-aging supplement that can help promote longevity, health, and well-being, and the prevention of cardiovascular disease and a host of other degenerative conditions as a result of free radical production. So in this video, I want to remind us how powerful vitamin C is. One of the purest forms in which you can actually get it that is as close to nature that you can possibly get without actually going and buying the fruit itself, so stay tuned for that in just a moment. Now here’s the thing about vitamin C–we have lost our potential to produce vitamin C endogenously, meaning we have to get it exogenously, from the outside, to help to provide the necessary requirement of vitamin C that our body requires every single day. It’s a water soluble antioxidant, and as a result, we lose it every day, and so it has to be replenished every single day, and as a result of that simple fact, a good 20 to 30 percent of the population even in today’s modern world is deficient in this vital antioxidant. Why is that? Well it’s a whole host of reasons from lifestyle factors, to medications, to obesity, smoking, alcohol, and of course processed food. When the average American diet is about 60 to 80 percent processed food, it’s not hard to figure out how many of us are maybe well fed, but undernourished in vitamin C. Often we’ll fall in that category. So here are some signs to recognize whether you are deficient in vitamin C. One, you bruise easily. Maybe you have inflamed gums, weight gain, leaky gut, compromised immune system, swollen, painful joints, dry hair and rough skin. Why is that the case? Well to understand why, let’s look at some of the top benefits of vitamin C. One of them being of course anti- aging. One of the things that actually accelerate the aging process is free- radical productions. What are free radicals? Free radicals are basically angry little cells that are missing an electron. They gobble up your healthy cells, tissue, and DNA, and as a result, are linked to over a hundred plus degenerative diseases including heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and even stroke. So vitamin C is one of the most powerful antioxidants that can donate an electron to complete those unstable molecules and thus making them null and void. So it’s incredibly important to maintain healthy levels of vitamin C and their protective benefits. Also, they are essential in the production of collagen. Collagen is what provides tensile strength to your bone or to your ligaments to your tendons and even for maintaining healthy, glowing skin.

Vitamin C is very important in their synthesis and the repair of damaged tissue, because of this collagen formation that requires vitamin C to make it happen. Vitamin C has also been shown an independent research studies to actually help maintain healthy blood pressure levels. In fact, some studies have shown a decline in anywhere of five to ten millimeters or mercury in blood pressure reg down-regulation, meaning bringing it back down to lower levels. Vitamin C is very critical to maintaining healthy blood pressure levels. Also there are critical to absorption, in particular, vitamin E, zinc, and iron. and They even coincide with vitamin E in their production and the maintenance of testosterone, and very important for these athletes, and even yes, for you ladies it’s very important to maintain healthy testosterone levels, not only for your own muscle retention for that tone aesthetic look that many of you obviously are working hard towards and/or wanting to maintain, but also to ensure the strength that goes along with it, and the right estrogen to testosterone ratio, which is really critical through preventing that pro estrogenic state that can be linked often to cancer formation. So very important in the bioavailability and in the absorption. Vitamin C is also absolutely critical for your immune system. In fact, heavy doses of vitamin C have been shown to decrease the length of a cold in half over those in a placebo group. So it’s very important to get healthy amounts of vitamin C. Why? Because they also stimulate natural killer cells to help fight off the vader’s and bacteria that can emit in viruses that invade our blood tissues or our tissues in general, but they’re also critical in a lymphocyte production, in providing those T helper cells to help us ward off or provide the antibodies that are necessary to ward off infection. So vitamin C is absolutely critical for your immune system and yes even for athletes in maintaining tremor waste lines repair and recovery and decreasing muscle soreness so that you can train higher levels of intensity. And it’s a big part of my supplementation program throughout my own heavy weight training routine so that I can get back into the gym hit it hard again without the soreness from the workouts from before. So it’s an absolutely critical component to my recovery. So how do we provide it here at Kyäni? Well we prefer to use whole-food extracts as close to nature as you can possibly get them, and we use them here in our water soluble antioxidant blend. This is not a multivitamin, this is filled with 22 of the most powerful superfoods plus 60 trace minerals and our primary source is the wild Alaskan blueberry, which has ten times the vitamin C potency and content of a traditional blueberry found in the lower 48 states, where it has about ORAC score of about 20 and is about 60 to 80 for the wild Alaskan blueberry, because it grows in a harsher colder climate. As a result, the wild Alaskan blueberry has the protective bioflavonoids, polyphenols, that are necessary to ward off its own infection, if you will, that can destroy the plant. So it makes it incredibly resilient and it passes that nutrition on to us. Not to mention all of the other complimenting powerful sources of superfoods that help to compliment this blend, providing in nature’s form the vitamins the way that the body recognizes them, ensuring bioavailability and proper absorption. Here’s just us a list of some of the benefits of the products in terms of what they are priding. When you look at the acai berry, anthocyanins, polyphenols, vitamin A, C, and E, trace minerals, B vitamins, and the list goes on. I’m not gonna read all of this for you. Feel free to freeze this frame if you like.
