How To Cook An Organic Chayote Squash In The Instant Pot™

Welcome to my channel, I’m Gary, it’s Fall and today we are featuring Chayote Squash. Did you know Chayote Squash Tea can lower blood pressure? Can help dissolve kidney stones and the Hardening of the arteries? Chayote Squash has Niacin, Vitamin B6 Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate and Zinc. Thank you for watching. Today, I’m gonna cook Chayote Squash.

Like when I used to live in San Ysidro, we add a vine of these and it’s a delicious Green Squash. I’m going to take my vegetable holder to prevent it from being burnt on the bottom And I’m going to cook these in the instant Pot pressurized cooker for one minute. And I’m going to fast vent it, cut it up, and use it for my lunch. The next step to add the water. I’m going to use one cup and a half of water into the Instant Pot metal liner.

I’m going to install the cover on Next, I’m gonna set it to seal, I’m going to press Manual button, and I’m going to bring down the time down to one minute The instant Pot Pressured Cooker just turned on and now it’s starting its pressurization. Until it starts getting to one minute and counts down. The Instant Pot just came the pressure and now it’s at one counting down. I’m now opening the lid of the Instant Pot. The music say it’s safe.

The juices flow inside and place the lid in a safe place. Pick it up (the squash with a oven mitt) Put it on a plate. At this point, I separate it from the seed. See how easy it is to cut it’s hot right now. I like the skin, so I’m going to leave it on.

You can see. There’s a very small seed which I don’t eat. Half of the squash, more than fills the plate, then I add. Northwest Vegetable Blend Vegetables and these are just frozen vegetables.

And I’m adding Red Beans. Notice I green the waters from the Chayote Squash. This is what the seeds look like. That’s why I chopped it up. It’s delicious. Just the way it is. It’s a very good vegetable. It has a mild green flavor.

We usually take these vegetables and chop them up and put them away. That way they’re all ready for my lunches. Once it’s all cooked. Then I had a topping. Something I like this is Pace, Chunky Salsa. Sometimes, I mix it all into the squash dish and other times, I just eat it the way it is.
